Readers of this blog will know I intermittently take part in #VSS365 – a daily Twitter task to write a short story within the 280 character limit. It’s fun and passes a few minutes while at the same time helps to flex my literary muscles. The ultimate accolade is to get mentioned in the Twitter equivalent of dispatches – to have your Tweet listed under one of the myriad topics guiding the casual Twitter browser. My favourites are: SciFi, Literature, Fiction, Mystery Fiction and Historical Fiction.
Yesterday, I achieved my ambition in this respect and got a mention in Twitter Topics, but not in quite the way I had hoped.
As Spitting Image’s Margaret Thatcher once remarked when asked, “What about the vegetables?” she turned to her cabinet members and replied, “They can come too.”
In my case, this will do too.
